Babcock def wants him still, he loves him like a child, but maybe not at that cost. Dumping Martin helps ease losing a couple picks some. LG can also play a shutdown role as a winger though. Gives Leafs great C depth and ability to mix and match based on matchups. Leafs probably could also flip Bozak and recoup a pick in this scenario if preferred.

Babs isn't GM, he doesn't decide who we get. Leafs just traded for a good C. Unless they are Pickung up a C prospect then they are done looking for C help.

Glendening is garbage anyway. Dubai would shut that trade down immediately. Leafs aren't that bad with the cap yet that we need to trade Martin. Maybe in a year or 2 but even then we'd be able to eat cap so his value goes up.

No he's not GM but if you don't think he has some pull in the front office you're kidding yourself. Most likely they won't add another C but not out of the question. Babcock loves to win and loves having pieces for flexibility game to game and series to series. He's a matchup guru. LG ain't trash, sure his offense is limited but he plays a vitally important role in the playoffs. He's super annoying to play against and he's at his best when the energy levels are ramped up in the playoffs

Green isn't going to Toronto, And Glendening to Toronto is probably dead after the Leafs acquired Tomas Plekanec.

Glendening is where advanced numbers go to die. I repeat. Leafs don't need him, Leafs don't want him. Not to mention his contract is crap too!
