I think it's unfair to suggest that we would have the perfect draftees if we kept our traded picks. That's not how drafting really works.

Still I think there's alot of merit to looking back and contemplating just how many talents that was traded away for mediocre gain. But at the same time, we have had alot of dead weight moved away too.

1) Sekera was signed on July 1, 2015. Chiarelli started with the Oilers in April 2015.
2) Poolie might want to start outplaying Tkachuk than.....last year he wasn't in the NHL & this year they're not even close. Actually not even close.
3) Who knows if they would have picked Barzal.....but Barzal, Boeser, Chabot & Kyle Conner were all available & picked within a few spots.
4) Then go ahead & put Draisaitl at C. Boeser or Nuge can play wing. But either way.....$8,500,000 is WAY WAY to much money.
5) The crease is awful...agreed but compare it to the real crease. Nilsson's got better numbers than Talbot, he's younger & he didn't cost a 2nd + 3rd + 7th.
6) They gave him a chance...but they didn't have to trade him for a 3rd....that's DAMN low.
7) Cagguila & Benning aren't the reason EDM will be in cap jail for the next 5 years. So they're not that bad.
8) Letestu is a fine 4th line center....not much else though. Pouliot...I can't do anything about him....the system doesn't let you mod an existing buyout.
9) You want Marincin back? I'm a Leaf fan & I'm gonna say that you don't want him back. He's like our 12th defencemen.
10) Benson is not looking as good as DaBrincat....especially when your team has speed issues.
