Interesting idea, but not at this time. Iafallo is a longer term investment. I'm more interested in immediate impact and will hold onto my picks to see what my options are after I do some other minor shuffling.

Eh, not really. He's been a solid playmaker; moreover, if he wasn't cursed, he could be on pace for 41 points.

I don't see a fit right now. Unless an opportunity to upgrade comes along I'm going to hang onto him. The guys I might consider are younger and won't help me compete this season. Maybe at the draft if you're still interested.

Oh, and speaking of Baertschi, could I add to Iafallo to get him?

Buchnevich is the type of player I'd want in order to move him now. Anything beyond 1 for 1 will probably be an off season consideration.

I'm going to reason this out, to make sure we both understand the values involved.

Miller's a luxury I can't afford without moving Schlemko, so if you don't want Schlemko, there's not really a deal to be made.
Benn I need for a playoff run, because I can trust him on either side. Wouldn't consider moving him for a 3rd goalie or a prospect.
Your proposal adds $1M in cap as well. I'd be better off with a $1M dollar goaltender and spending that money elsewhere.

You offered Miller for two 7ths (to Chicago) and Fiore is an undrafted prospect.
I think you undervalued Miller. I'd give you the value of a 5th because the goalie market is weak, as I'm guessing you've noticed. I could get someone less expensive for a lower pick and just run with Niemi as my backup. He's been more or less league average since joining Montreal.

Undrafted prospects are harder to put a value on. Fiore is considered to be fast, but otherwise pretty unrefined. He's back in the Q after only dressing for 1 NHL games, so he still has work to do.

I'll knock the price on Schlemko down to a 5th. That's even with what I would offer for Miller, and a trade I'm willing to make at this point in time.
Roy is worth more than Fiore. I'd be willing to trade Roy, but you'd have to add some value.

I'd be fine with giving you the 5th for Fiore. Maybe you can get a prospect you like better with that pick, or would rather move his contract to make room for someone else. I don't know the details of your situation, so that's your call. I don't know what you value him at, and maybe you'd prefer to keep him. I'd be willing to add Hartnell to free up a roster spot or Mitchell to shave some cap space.

So what that all boils down to is:
Schlemko for Miller
or
Schlemko + 5th (ANA - 2019) + one of Hartnell or Mitchell for Miller + Fiore
or
Schlemko + Roy for Miller + Fiore + ???

I know the door is closed on the Eller deal for now but when one door closes, another one opens, so with that being said, would you be willing to move Cale Fleury and also what would you want from me for Fucale?

Grabner interests me, but I think the price is higher than I'm willing to pay. I probably wouldn't do more than a 2nd and Hartnell being included. If that's in range let me know.

I'm keeping Fleury. Ward is a possibility for Fucale, but he'd be among my last considerations for a 3rd goaltender and I likely wouldn't be able to take his full salary, so maybe later.
