Nelson, Bellows and two 1st for what?

Asset for asset, Nelson is worth no more than Patch (with the retained salary). Pleky is dead weight, so let's say he's worth nothing more than a 3rd (even with the retained salary). Where do you see the two first and Bellows in there? Lindgren isn't worth all of this, even if you include MTL taking Kulemin and Halak's contracts.

Talking about Halak, way to bring back the old messed up days between Halak and Price fighting for the starting role... Even though that would force Price to get off his ass.

Patches can and will be able to get a top 9 forward. High tier prospect and a first rounder very much like the duchene Trade. Elite 30-40 goal score for 1.5 years at 2.25 will have ALOT of teams come knocking. You haven’t been seeing these patches trades to STL or ANA where it’s usually always a prospect first and roster player???
Lindgren honestly imo is an upgrade over what they have now between the pipes and ending Halák back to Montreal means literally nothing as hell played very few games and be a UFA at the end of the year.
Then Plekanec, one of the best shutdown C in the league who’s always on the ice vs the likes of stamkos mcdavid Crosby etc is still a +3 in this failure of a season so far. On first unit PK and let’s not forget what the Wild overpaid to receive hanzel

Sorry did you just say Nelson was worth Pacioretty straight up? At least change your profile if you're going to say stuff like that. Number crunching?
20 goal scorer with under a .5 p/g career average vs. 30 goal scorer with a career average of over .7 p/g. That's not even close.

Its all about perspective right?

Plekanec is the 3rd line C the Isles are getting that can play effectively versus the oppositions top players. That comes at a price. Nelson is a young C who's fallen behind on the Isles depth chart (JT, Barzal). He'll be due a raise this summer. How many teams want to pay alot of money for a 3C? You can trade him for draft picks this summer, OR you can flip him for an upgrade now for a playoff run. Pleks isn't enough for NYI to be satisfied with the return on Nelson, hence including Lindgren in the deal.

Pacioretty, although having a bad season, is a premier goal scorer in this league. Not many NHLers have scored more goals than him in the last 5-6 years in the league. He will fetch "ATLEAST" two premium assets, maybe even three. Bellows and 2 draft picks is fair return, especially if MTL is eating salary on Pacioretty AND Pleks.

As for Kulemin and Halak: I don't know if they need to be included in the deal if MTL is eating salary on both Pleks and Pacioretty. If they are included in the deal, who cares. Both contracts expire at the end of this season.

Nelson, Bellows and a 1st would be the price to pay For Pacc + Pleky (with retain salary) If Isl need to dump salary add Kulimin... that's it!
And Lindgren; I have a lot of respect for him but he doesn't worth a 1st rd pick... High prospect for a high prospect.

That's not what I meant. I meant that Nelson isn't worth more than Patch on a one for one trade.

Thing is, Patch isn't appreciated as a captain and MTL have plenty of younger wingers with more determination on their prospect banks. Nelson, who is a center, would be a good addition to the weak center squad in MTL. He scored 15 goals and is -7 this year, compared to 17 goals and -16 for Patch and that's Nelson being on the 3rd line... Imagine what he could do on the 2nd or maybe 1st in MTL...

Putting that aside, Patch would probably benefit to get away from the MTL crowd. Fresh air, new start, as they say.

Also, I'm guessing that you don't have much to do, since you have a 16,54 posts per day... Jeez...

Even though, after seing what TOR paid for Pleky, I will reconsider what I said... Seems like more than one team wanted to pick him up at the trade deadline. And Lindgren is really going to help out in the near future.

Some people say Pleky going to resign with MTL on July 1st... I wouldn't resign him for more than 1.5 M for 1 year.

Pacioretty would benefit from a change, but having a legitimate top line C is what he needs. Whether that happens in Montreal is the question.

You're comparing one season and using plus/minus, so the comparison is mostly irrelevant anyway. Nelson isn't a great shooter, passer, and isnt exactly skilled or proficient at faceoffs, so the idea of a significant improvement in a top 6 role elsewhere, is a stretch.

My post count is a side effect of the GM Game, but it's just another irrelevant number to bring up. Sticking Out Tongue
