Why am I not surprised that a Tampa fan has the Lightning winning the Cup, and a Toronto fan has the Leafs winning the Cup?

Do you not pay attention to current standings at all? Or do you just disregard so more people find you annoying and realize your knowledge of the sport is irrelevant?

For some reason, I just really like the looks of the Ducks on paper. They have great C depth, a rock solid top four, a fantastic starter and high quality backup. Wings could use some help, but they're in a pretty good position with their roster, given the way other teams in the division are constructed

I think, if we are in playoff contention come February, GMBM has to make a move for a top winger, with Eaves out.

Top Lw-Getzy-Perry
Rakell-Henrique-Kase
Cogs-Kesler-Silfvy
ritchie-Vermy-Wagner

That would help roll 4 lines every night.

Rangers and Islanders both miss the post season.
Tampa beats Washington in 5 games in ECF
Nashville beats Vegas in 6 games in WCG

Tyler Johnson comes up clutch winning the Conn Smythe as Tampa beats Nashville in 6 games.

Sean Couturier wins the Selke. He is on pace for over 40 goals thus far (around 45) and still has is stellar defensive play.

Couturier better not win it before Backstrom. He's been long overdue for at least a nomination.

I would agree that he is long overdue, but I don't see why there should be equity in who is the Selke winner. In other words, past wrongdoings don't really matter for this year. Yeah, Backstrom has gotten screwed before, but if you take the names out of the equation and compare the numbers, you get your winner. It sucks that he hasn't gotten a nomination, but the winner shouldn't be based on anything other than numbers and context.

Just to compare those two players:

Couturier is on pace for 45 (44.904) goals and 37 assists putting him at a PPG pace halfway through the season.
Backstrom is on pace for 18 goals and 52 assists putting him at 0.853 PPG.

Couturier has been the shut down guy for Philadelphia since he was 20/21. Now he is still shutting down and playing the 1C and excelling. Not a knock to Backstrom or anything, but I think that Couturier's rise is going to cast a shadow on Backstrom and his slight decline.

Backstrom’s numbers gave declined, but he’s been covering defensively so much due to losing so much D this offseason (and then even more when Niskanen went down). He could easily be at a point per game, but he was basically a defenseman for us for about 10 games-ish

Those numbers are way too low. I don't know of that website, but it sounds like a stats site, not a prediction site. Maybe with stats and math it works like that, but that can't really predict.

They use math and stats to make the odds as accurate as they can.
