I think Kuraly on the first line would look equally as bad as Nordstrom on the second line, especially given the fact he'd be playing out of position as a RW. Do you forget that Kuraly couldn't even hang at 3rd C earlier in the year when he got his opportunity? He looked flat out bad and he's actually playing great as a 4th liner right now so you don't tamper with that line.
Tampering with the lines imo is part of why Heinen's struggled to score this year. It seems like whenever he looks like he's had a good game or scored a point and could possibly string a couple games together he gets moved up in the lineup to the point where he's over his head and can't play as well. He's literally the primary guy who's been plugged in on a higher line every time Cassidy shuffles the lineup and it never seems to work well for him so it'd be foolish to do the same thing with a less talented player who realistically doesn't have any chance to succeed on the 1st line. I don't fault Cassidy for moving Heinen up in the lineup to try to balance the lines because Heinen is a skill guy who had a great season last year and has shown flashes, but I would fault Cassidy if he moved Kuraly to the 1st line and he looked like total crap like most people would expect.
