How the Flyers should move on from here

Don't mind most of this but bring up Myers.

I like all of this for PHI but DAL and DET say no. DET needs the picks and don't need to trade for players like Weal when they can get them off waivers. Plus DET doesn't need to burn Frazens contract when they have space.

I think Johns is 5x as valuable over Mac that I can't see this happening, even if DAL is looking to stockpile picks.

EDIT: JUST LOOKED AT DET CAP. I guess DET cap is in worse shape then I thought. Someone is going to take advantage of this

Because Detroit is currently under the cap. Franzens contract is ltir so it doesn’t hurt the cap. And next season we will have something like 20m in cap space.

I like Myers but watching him versus Friedman right now Friedman looks better. Don’t get me wrong I’m sure Myers has a bigger ceiling, but it just looks like Friedman is a solid NHL D-man right now.

Yeah Detroit is in bad shape though the cap goes up soon but Zetterberg couldn’t retire officially because they don’t have enough cap space with the penalties from his contract. I agree Johns is a much better player, but he has injury issues stemming from concussions and hasn’t played in quite a while. So we’re mostly taking dead contracts back from these deals.
