Chicago adds Duchene to play 2nd line center and Schmaltz can play wing. Hawks would be capable to resign him and have Kane’s line mates set for a while. Dzingel adds depth, can play 1st line if Kahun starts to struggle but will likely be on 3rd line to distribute talent.

Ottawa does this because Duchene and Dzingel are both UFAs. They gain Murphy for three years who will be a top 4 D man for them during that time. I know Saads value is low right now but he can easily turn it around, times of bad play can happen to any player. He has had multiple 50 point seasons. He is only on this contract for two more seasons and Ottawa has plenty of cap space. He could be a great piece to help grow the young talent there. Right there with the youth movement that will be taking place in Ottawa. Ejdsell is middle 6 prospect. Forsberg (RFA) can get some time in net with Anderson on his way out. 3, maybe even 4 of the players Sens receive will be in their lineup. And now throw in a 2nd overall pick.

I think this is fair because all four players Ottawa receives they will be able to retain while it is uncertain if the hawks even resign the players they receive. Although, I do think the hawks would be able to resign both.

The one thing that concerns me with Ottawa is that they don't have a 1st round draft pick this year. Other offers are likely to be had for Duchene and they could be looking for a 1st round pick.

Nate Schmidt I compared to last years deadline trade for Ian Cole;1 year rental, 3rd round pick. If he plays how he did in the playoffs last year he adds a serious piece on the backend. It would be possible to resign him as well.

Vegas still owes us on a “future consideration” when we traded Kruger to them for nothing and turned him into a 5th round pick.

Many fans are hoping to see Sikura this season. I am hoping he can make the jump like Teuvo did during the the 2015 playoffs to contribute on that 3rd line.
