Andrew Shaw - right now only, is virtually untradeable. He's a good player still but everyone needs to see him come back healthy and contribute first before trading anything for him. If he does, I;d expect a 2nd rounder and a B prospect would be our best type of return. Really hard to find a comparable though so its pure guessing at this point.
Paul Byron - A 2nd rounder, and if he plays well to start the year and a team is in need of a winger come the deadline, a decent prospect on top of a 2nd. See Grabner trade last year.
Tomas Tatar - Will depend solely on how well he does with MTL to start the year. Will he be Detroit Tatar or Vegas Tatar. If its Detroit Tatar, I would think a little less than what Vegas paid for him. Maybe a late 1st and a prospect or a 4th rounder. if its Vegas Tatar, and i highly doubt he will be, it'll be a 3rd rounder and a B prospect at best. Might have to take some cap back too. I think we'll see Detroit Tatar though. MTL will give him every opportunity to regain his former numbers. Realistically given a solid half start to the season, he'll get something similar to what Kane got at last years deadline.
Brendan Gallagher - Priceless. No team will pony up the value us Habs will think he's worth. He'll be worth more to us than any return. Unless we get lucky with Ottawa pulling a Duchene like overpay for Gally, he simply isn't going anywhere. He's one of the core players of this new team.
David Schlemko - At best right now, waiver claim. The best we can hope is someone takes his contract off our hands. If he comes into the season and plays like he is capable of, then what the Habs paid to get him should be his price. (A 5th) Anything more than that is gravy.
Jordie Benn - Was traded for Pateryn and a 4th. Is a cheap 5-6 dman with experience and can play both sides of the ice. I think if we get a 4th for him, that is spot on value for what he's worth. Similar to Morrow trade last year.
Jeff Petry - its hard to know. He has an NMC which makes it really hard to find an exact team that wants him and that he wants to go to. In a perfect world where he was willing to go to any team, a mid-late 1st and a young dman would be the price to go for. Finding a comparable is pretty darn hard though. Top 4 dmen with a couple years left on their contract rarely move. The ones (or better) that do are all big name guys like Karlsson, McDonagh, Subban, etc.
I will say this though, we are currently in a trade value limbo. As much as 2 years ago, us fans could gauge pretty close to what players values were and what teams would pay. Now? Karlsson for peanuts, Pacioretty for good return. Evander Kane last year for peanuts. On and on and on...... So I could be way off for all I know.
