Important note: Tavares is signed for only this one season. Ottawa signs him to this massive deal with a verbal agreement in place to trade him to a contender that season for picks/prospects and probably a couple of bad contracts.

didnt it just come out today that they assumed the EK deal was Glass, Miller and a pick . No way they add Suzuki & Brännström bc a retained salary dump in Ryan is added.

I will admit the vegas deal was very ambitious of me, I most likely value Karlsson at a significantly higher value than he'll likely go for. Additionally Vegas could do a deal similar to that done with Brassard and retain another portion of his salary then flip him at a reasonable cap hit.

That being said that was before Vegas went to the finals and would have won had they had a player of Karlsson's caliber. Also Bobby Ryan at a 5 million dollar cap hit his better than Tatar at 5.3 mil. This whole thread should not be taken too literally but if the Vegas deal is the biggest issue here than I would be pretty happy with myself.
