In order to make the re-tool everyone in QC is hoping for, it might take a creative proposal like this.

IMO, your roster still needs some fire power with the loss of Paches and Gally. (probably a 1B centre and a winger) how would you address that need?

I don't think that MB will gives a 50-60 talented winger that still have an excellent potential and our best offensive prospect for a defensive 2C that can put 50-60 pts (at 7,5m).

I think you can sign a 2C like Stastny or if Winnipeg wants to move on from Stastny then look at making a deal for Little. The winger I dont agree with though, we are deep on the wings and with either Zadina or Svechnikov coming in, we are even deeper. I dont think either of those guys show up and play bottom six minutes, their both top 6 players right away, might as well make room now.

I think in this scenario he over pays in order to keep Carolina and Buffalo happy. Plus we have so many wingers that we need to clear some out, almost like getting Duchene out of Colorada so you can let Mackinnon shine. Our hopeful Mackinnon is Drouin, so clear out the left side and see what he can really do.

I like the wingers as well but losing Patches and Gally means 50 - 60 G/yr gone and I don't see the wingers in place matching that (even with Zadina).

Perhaps Thorton might work as a temporary solution to help the wingers boost their scoring.
