Trading Weber to ARI. Because his salary is lower than cap hit it works for ARI. MTL gets QC D prospect. "Busts" Domi and Galchenyuk also swapped.

Sorry, this is perhaps the nuttiest trade I've seen here ever. Weber and Galchenkyuk -- a veteran Norris candidate every year that he has been healthy and a 24-year-old still-emerging talent -- plus a pick for Domi and two prospects still in juniors?!!! No sir.

If that trade was for Galchenyuk alone it might be fair.

The GM of Montreal won't be trading Weber, because that would mean he has egg all over his face for the P.K. SUBBAN trade. As you come to know that our GM likes to blame everyone else but himself for the year that was.

Whenever I see a Montreal Post looking to trade Weber at full value, I get ready to roast the post! There are so many reasons for the Canadiens not to trade Weber (not the least of which is described by Flynnster above), but the Canadiens if they want to actually do the full rebuild, need to do it and do it now! I automatically would look for Montreal to take back money, (50%) but you suggest they swallow hard and throw in Galchenyuk and throw in a solid 2nd. Most Canadiens fans are going to roast you, but I actually think, you have identified a move that might actually work for both sides. Weber coming off injury has questions surrounding him, his performance potential, and his long term contract. If Montreal can shed it at full value, I say make the move!

Yea I don't see why people would want to keep him for 8 more years at 7,8m. It's common for fans to overvalue their players. Not trying to bash Weber but his best days are behind him.
