Shaw isn't a number 1C. Neither is Drouin. Does he need to be if he just creates enough havoc to open up space for Drouin and Galchenyuk to work with?

Hudon isn't a center either, but he's played some. Is he a better option than Danault?

Gallagher doesn't need to be in the top 6 to produce, but he can take some shifts there, as can Danault to take some pressure off Hudon.

For trades, Montreal can add if the value isn't there.
Edmonton frees up cap and takes a chance on Murphy and McCarron. Players that they could use, provided they work out. The pick and cap relief are mitigating factors for the risk. Add another conditional 2nd for games played by the two of them if needed.

Schlemko is the casualty of bringing in another LHD.

Quincey is off the books to make a spot for Mete and/or Jerabek next season. Minnesota gets affordable players with a little potential upside for spare parts. Add a conditional pick of necessary here as well.

Assuming Hemsky gets healthy send him somewhere that could use him as insurance in the playoffs. Anaheim is just an example.

Assuming the Habs are done this season, might as well have some fun, right? :p
