Letang is fair value on his contract now. Doubt ownership would approve this much dead money even Dubas wanted to do this. Much less without an overpayment. Also not sure Letang would even waive for MTR.

If Crosby chose Montréal? Yeah, he would. Especially given his connection to Hughes. With retention higher return, no retention less return. You’re right, it’d be up to ownership.

"You have no idea that a Quebec Born All Star wants to Go Home and Play in the Loudest building in the NHL infront of Family for his Final Years"

Well Common sense would dictate that Dubas being there and getting Karlsson has made him think about this at the very least.
Crosby i dunno he does love PIT for sure , Enough to leave it every time his business obligations over to come home to the Maritimes and Serve Me Coffee (sometimes with Friends). Crosby is the king of the Maritimes but that will fade with time as it was for an American Team which has a wayyyyyy smaller fanbase up in this corner of the world then you'd think. Crosby wins MTL their 25th Cup on his way out to Retirement he'll be 90 before anyone here forgets about him or his Legacy or what he did .
I mean Jeez Leclair and Brisebois are still cashing in off the fact fans loved them on the 1993 Cup run and dollars to donuts they still will be in another 30 years

Crosby was born in Nova Scotia. No idea where "common sense" would associate Dubas and Karlsson with going to MTR either.
