Description
I keep Reinbacher in Laval for the start of the season in order for him to get ready for the North Maerican leagues. I send the 1st rounder to Laval also since they'll most likely be picking 5th to 10th;

I provide AVS with a winger and a good prospect defenseman with a pick to get Mittelstadt and sign him for 3 years;

I make a move for Marchessault.. Vegas can't sign him and 10 other players with 8M$ of cap space left. I offer 3 years, just under 8M$ for him to come play in MTL.

I put Dach on the third line, but most likely he'll be at home most of the year ... again... 2 years in he's got 60 games and 40 pts and people are still saying that it was a good move.. I don't understand it... Until he can play 70+ games in ONE season he's not worth the trade right now. Romanov is in the + 20 right now and has missed but 6 games last year and one this year..

If and only IF Zegras is still being offered, I would make the move. I would offer Anaheim a first and a second with some conditions; two NHL ready players and two prospects that need a new start. If the relationship is that bad between Zegras and ANA then why not make the move? Some say his attitude is not up to par, but he's a young guy and will hit is maturity in 3 years which is most likely where the Habs should.. SHOULD.. be competitive enough to go for the Conference title and hopefully to the cup...

MTL
  1. Mittelstadt, Casey [Droits de RFA]
Détails additionnels:
Mittelstadt was aquired for Byram; but Avs will need to makes space for their cap issues which will have 12 players active and 11.325M$ to spare. They'll need a low cost Defense; and a guy who can play wing for less than 2M$ to replace the long list of players that become UFA at the end of the season. Mittelstadt will cost them at least a 3.5M$ cap hit if they want to keep him (Never hit the 20 goals/year yet so should around that number) hence they'll run out of space
COL
  1. Armia, Joel (1 700 000 $ retained)
  2. Harris, Jordan
  3. Choix de 2e ronde en 2025 (PIT)
Détails additionnels:
Armia on the third of 4th at the price isn't a gamble, he's good defensively and can play offense in bursts. Harris proved some good value for a developping defenseman and will cost less than 2M$ also on the cap. Habs add the 2nd round pick and this gives AVS the pick they need for 2025.
2.
MTL
  1. Groulx, Benoit-Olivier [Droits de RFA]
  2. Zegras, Trevor
Détails additionnels:
IF .. only IF Zegras isn't getting what Verbeek wants back for him, this is something I'd put on the table to see what the feedback would be. Barron is getting better the more he plays; Kidney is a good prospect; Norlinder needs a new start; And Anaheim get picks and Evans helps them out now at center if they need him.
ANA
  1. Barron, Justin
  2. Evans, Jake
  3. Kidney, Riley
  4. Norlinder, Mattias
  5. Choix de 2e ronde en 2024 (COL)
  6. Choix de 1e ronde en 2025 (MTL)
Détails additionnels:
*1st round pick would be protected to top 5; if the pick is top 5, then ANA can chose one of these options:
1. Take WIN 2024 1st round pick and two 3rd picks (one from 2024 and the other for 2025); or

2. Habs 2026 1st round pick (no cond't) and the best of 2025's 3rd round picks that Habs will still have at draft day.
3.
MTL
  1. Choix de 7e ronde en 2024 (ARI)
Détails additionnels:
I put a 7th, but really.. Future considerations would be enough on any team or else he goes, back to Laval.

Anaheim and Colorado both say no, like easily say no to the point you would think they're laughing as they hang up.

Marchessault would be a waste of money. Aging vet that Habs don't need and just takes up a roster spot for a younger player

Only thing I some what agree with in this post is keeping Reinbacher in the AHL but it will depend on his training camp

Zegras is not, nor was on the table, and if he was available, it would take one of Slafkovsky, Reinbacher +, or MTLs 24 1st + at the draft.

"You weren't actively shopping him, but were teams calling on (Trevor Zegras) near the deadline?

No, they were not. Zegras is hurt. It's a situation there that everybody is speculating on that. We want Z to play with us. Hopefully, he can get through this injury pretty quickly and get him back on the ice."

Like I feel like I can hear clown music playing talking about why the Avs would do that trade. Like preposterous and then you double down on a stupid contract for Mittlestadt that would never sign that deal considering he is arbitration eligible and would just sign his QO and walk to UFA. So dumb.

Oh yeah laughing, then take a look at the contract he gives Mittlestadt an arbitration eligible RFA.

lol wtf. You know Zegras has never been shopped right? Like at all. We counter with a ‘25 1st for caufield IF and only IF MTL doesn’t get back what they want for him 😂
