Description
Curious to see a few things

1. Does Lohrei get a shot to play some in the playoffs without injury? The 3rd line shown has more size. Interested to see what Peeke does in the system

2. Do they go with Brazeau or Richard for the last forward off the bench.

3. My assumption is that Beecher, Lysell, Richard will be among the black aces

Struggled with that one. Probably is going to be Lohrei/Shattenkirk or Wotherspoon/Peeke unless this is about development. Part of me thinks they want more size in the playoffs.

Could also see a scenario where they call up Beecher to be the 4th line center and shift Boqvist to left wing in order to improve the faceoff possibilities

I think Beecher should get the shot as 4C in playoffs when cap isn't an issue - bigger body, strong at the dot, and good defensive/forechecking skill. Boqvist makes more sense on the wing. I could envision a scenario where Boqvist/Lauko/Richard compete for 4LW spot in the playoffs. Question is do they trust a young player in Beecher to take the 4C role.

IMO they probably go with Wotherspoon - Shattenkirk with Peeke getting some looks in the playoffs. Lohrei has been good recently but I don't think they fully trust him yet.

Not sure what will be the driver for these decisions for the Bruins. The easiest solution will be to go all vets and let the young players watch.

If the objective is for growth of players who are going to be more important long term, then I could see some select young players getting a shot. I will say they’ve played Lohrei in more prominent positions than Wotherspoon for whatever reason.

For all the positives you mentioned with Beecher, he also provided literally no offensive presence in his time here. I like him, but refusing to shoot the puck basically removed the positives to his game. Boqvist has been a massive upgrade even though he shouldn’t be

My belief is it will be based on whose playing the best at year end, but is just a guess.

1. I have also noticed Lohrei getting more looks than Wotherspoon recently - probably an organizational understanding that his ceiling is higher and indicator of his development.

2. Beecher's offensive game is a work in progress - I think his ceiling is a good 3C/very good 4C. He certainly produces more than Nosek did last year. Beecher showed some glimpses of well-timed offensive output but he certainly was not consistent. Boqvist has outproduced him offensively (.322 PPG vs. .179 PPG), but Boqvist is getting a lot more TOI than Beecher was: approximately 9 min to 13.5 minutes per night.

3. Boqvist is an RFA and shouldn't be too expensive to re-sign. Beecher should be a full-time NHLer next year - I think he's built a little more for the 4C role which size and ability at the dot. Lauko's game isn't as strong as it was last year, but a 4th line of Lauko - Beecher - Boqvist would have some serious speed. Probably need to add more of a vet presence to that group next year.
