What I would do for next season based on what happened in "Personally".
This is my first time ever trying this and I am not great at understanding the value of how much someone is going to get on a contract, so I may be way off with some of these, but I hope I am at least in a close ballpark with everyone. Also, don't worry about length of contracts. I didn't try and even think about doing that.
I have McMann and Lagesson coming back, but honestly that is just a "insert league minimum player here" spot.
Lilly and Benoit are RFAs, so it seems like a given that they will be back and playing for the Leafs this season. Roy would be an awesome pick up for the team as well. Personally want him or Hanifin. Hanifin would cost more though and also plays on the left like Rielly, so I went with Roy over him. This allows Chychrun or McCabe to play on the left as well. The Leafs second pair defenders at the current moment are the third liners for next season which would be huge for the team defense.
I am running under the belief that Woll will be the starter for the playoffs this season and the starter next year. I have Jones coming back as the backup, but really just want a backup in the $1 mil - $1.5 mil range. Hildeby becomes the 3rd stringer for next year. Can be called up and down at will do to waivers exemption. If goalie just isn't going well at all, then you trade for one, but I believe this is how you have to start the year with the cap strap having 4 ~$11 mil+ players.
For forwards, my hope would be that one of Minten or Cowan prove enough to start the year on the team. For a couple wingers, I think you gotta get scorers. Depth scoring is needed bad for this team. I think getting Jason Zucker could be a good add if he doesn't get traded to another team and extended at the deadline. If the season ended right now, he isn't performing at the level from the past to deserve as much as he is making this season resulting in the pay decrease next season. I think throwing him on a line with Tavares & Nylander though would most likely result in him get back to scoring more goals again. Perron is a fun add for me as I have been a Blues fan all my life and he helped bring Lord Stanley to the team. He has had a 20 goal pace every season since he rejoined the Blues and I assume he will be a bit cheaper since he is older now. Do I think he comes to the Leafs, no. Do I want it, yes. The hope is that you can get those two for 6.5 Mil combined or less. If it's less, I would be thrilled.
This is currently running a 21 man roster. Either you hope you can get Perron and Walker for $775K less combined so you can carry a 22 man roster, you don't get one of them and get 2 or 3 cheaper guys for depth to make the roster 22 or 23 people, or you run the 21 man roster with the philosophy that if anyone gets injured outside of Benoit, Lagesson, Knies, Holmberg, Minten, or McMann, then you can call up multiple guys to have a full roster. The top forward call-ups are Cowan, Reaves, and free agency forward that cleared waivers. The top defensive call-ups are free agency defender that cleared waivers and whoever is doing best on the Marlies at the time. Hildeby is the goalie call-up and maybe you go out and get someone in free agency that can be the Marlies backup and 2nd call-up.
Obviously, this won't happen in real life and GMs know much more about hockey than I do, but this is what I would try to do as the GM.
I don't think that's enough given Chychrun isn't a rental.
Plus Sens and Leafs making a trade?
Unlikely.
Assuming he is available for trade, what do you think would? In my other post I mentioned that I saw someone offer less than that in their scenario for Chychrun, so I did Robertson instead of Holmberg thinking about the inner-division trade. I also believe that if he gets traded, I don't think it would be for as much as people thinks he will get since the Sens aren't really competing this year and my guess is that he is more likely to not stay in Ottawa than stay.

Sens fans have more knowledge what the Sens needs are more than me.
Hopefully csick can chime in. 🤔
Chychrun has a year and a half left on his contract.
He'll be 26 in March.
He's making a bargain 4.6 mil salary.
Sens are listening to offers but they're not shopping him.
They don't HAVE to trade Chychrun.
But if they did they'd likey want at least what they paid to get him which was a 1st and 2 2nds IIRC. 🤔
Maybe they want NHL players?
I'd suggested Berggren, Maatta and a 1st in a recent Detroit CFACGM.
But that was shot down quickly. 🤣
Sens can't get bent over like they did in the Cat trade. 😬
