Provorov is ridiculously overrated & isn’t a good defensemen, he had 1 good season in Philly 2 years ago so using nearly 5 mil on him is an absolute waste of cap space especially in UFA pool stacked with D-men, proof is how good Sanheim has been without him, he isn’t what the Leafs need at all

Edmundson, hasn’t been good since he was a Cane or a Blue, he isn’t a Top pair guy anymore in the slightest not to mention you have 0 right shots & gave Lilly away for basically nothing that helps the team, you somehow managed to make a horrible defensive team EVEN WORSE DEFENSIVELY, Bjugstad that’s fine 1/3 on trades but god those 1st 2 are absolute ****e

Did you actually look at Sanheim's stats since he left? Because he's gone from mostly defensive zone starts to offensive zone starts, and yet his CF% rel, GA/60 and plus/minus are way down despite playing on a much more successful team this year. The 0 right shots comment is fair, I'd likely trade Brodie for a RHD as well if it were me. That said, Edmundson is the type of schenn-like DFD who pairs best with Rielly, and has proven himself capable of playing top 4 minutes.

Lily has not been good at all, while Provorov is a top pairing D who's scoring at a 0.5 P/GP pace despite getting no powerplay time. He's exactly the type of Muzzin replacement we need, and is solid in all areas. The UFA pool is not stacked right now, and we should be looking to compete this season as well. In any case, you're not going to find that value in free agency,

You can argue about the acquisition cost, but if you think this makes us worse defensively then you don't know what you're talking about...

Provorov has gotten significant power play time this season due to injuries. He is our second most used defenseman on the PP and 6 of his points are with the man advantage. I 100% guarantee Provorov will make you worse defensively. He is a second pair defenseman who loses his man constantly, doesn’t engage, gives up passing and shooting lanes, and loses board battles. He turns pucks over more than any other player on our team. He is solid in no areas.

Since Christmas, he is producing less than 1 point per 60 minutes of 5v5 hockey and that includes having a 2 goal game in that stretch. Over that stretch he has the exact same points per 60 as TJ Brodie.

Ivan Provorov does not make you better. He doesn’t even make us better. Therefore, Columbus accepts the **** out of this trade lmfao
