There no scenario where Joshua Roy get traded, Habs have landed great players and he doesn’t stop improving since he got traded to the Sherbrooke Phoenix. Mtl would need to get a elite pieces coming back in the deal. So forget about Mittlestad, Zegras or garbage like that.
Joshua Roy would be a top 15 pick maybe a top 10 pick if the draft was redo today. He dominated CHL the past 2 seasons, was a key pieces of the 2 gold medal run with Junior Canadian team. He as a elite Hockey IQ, great shot, he constantly find the open space making him a constant menace offensively and he is a elite passer. zegras is garbage bow? at the same age as roy, he already had a 60 point season under is belt. if zegras was a hab, he would be ''untouchable''.

roy is good. so is zegras.

(Im not saying to trade them for one anoter)

I mean, they sort of have the same problem, defence is still a pretty big weakness in roy's game. He struggled quite a bit in the ahl this year because of this. but he is young and will just get better.

Stop right now with that. The whole team what a complete mess at the start of the season. They had 40 players to start the season and had to roll the line up constantly. Also the team was almost completely new, having only a couple of player from the prior edition. The first 20 games was a total wreck for everyone in that team, they had no structure and they had key injuries to the older players that where supposed to mentor the bunch of rookie they have. Roy defensive consciousness is not on the same level
As Zegras. The past 15 games where much better for the entire Rockets team and Roy just shows that he isn’t a defensive liability now at the big level.

well, he also gets sheltered minutes too. even in the chl roy was known for not being the best defensive player. put roy in yhe same situation zegras is and he wont look so good defensively. in the end, i think roy will be the better defensive player for sure, but lets not pretend after 5 games in sheltered mimutes he is a defensive god. He has more of the tools than zegras for defence too, but in time.
