I still have hope for this season, but this is purely focusing on next season just for fun.

A lot of the talk about what Guentzel will sign for in the offseason seems to be somewhere between $8-$9M aav but I would assume the term would be 5 or 6 years considering he's going to turn 30 in October.

I wonder if the penguins can get him somewhere between $6-$7M aav but give him longer term (8 years). He and Crosby obviously have a strong relationship and Jake has watched Sid, Malkin and Letang all take less money to keep the team together and competitive. When he's 38 the team will hopefully (lol who knows) coming close to out of a rebuild, and I would hope as the cap continues to go up that his contract between $6-7M aav at that point wouldn't be a big deal.

If they can secure Jake at that AAV it gives them more space for adding.

I've been critical of DOC this season but he's turned his game on lately and Puusty has played well so far since being up. I think if you can find a strong 3C to center for those two you could make a really solid line.

I also believe moving Eller down to 4C (Eller has been solid this season), adding Nieto back in and moving Acciari over to RW would make an extremely strong 4th line.

Some pens fans want to move on from Graves who's not had a strong season, but I can't imagine it will happen, but would be another option to free up some space.
