Description

Nylander is younger, and the more dynamic playmaker, but will cost more in terms of AAV.

I think Guentzel would be a good stylistic fit with Bedard, but he is 29 and probably looking for a longer term deal.

I figure both players are looking for deals in the 5-6 year range, or shorter in the case of Nylander to take him to that 29-30 range.

If we could get Nylander for the full 8 years at around ~10 I would go that route, but if not then Guentzel at 8.5 for 4-5 years seems appropriate.

Yep. I'm team Reinhart if we are looking at making a big UFA splash. But, also, Guentzel at 8.5m for 6 years sounds like a good deal.

I think he is just trading for Nylander rights here (via sign and trade) to get 8th year. A 2nd rounder would be a very high price for a UFA rights deal.
