- Puusty is continuing to show that he deserves a spot on the roster, he can't grow any further in the AHL. Only 8 games but he has 6 points in those games and looks like he fits on the team.
-I've still not seen anything on Puljujarvi outside of the fact that he was skating the other day with Nieto and rust I believe. I still hope he can get a chance on the team as it would be interesting to see what he adds. I know he's not the best finisher but still brings a lot of good attributes in his game.
-Ryan Graves needs to be parked on the third pair. He's been downright awful and since getting moved off Letang's pairing, Letang has looked fantastic. Karlsson hasn't been doing much with Graves. I think you need to put Pettersson back with Karlsson and move Ludvig to Letangs line. Graves either has to work out of his funk or stay on the third pairing.
-I feel a lot of fans on here want to move Acciari and get rid of him cause he has 3 points, but to me he does all the ugly stuff really well (PK, shot blocking, forechecking, physical) and that's needed. History shows us that he performs better when he's on the RW. I've posted this before but I'd like to see the penguins make space to bring up Rem Pitlick. Brings younger fast legs and is having a solid year in WBS.
IMO the only way the pens can improve their roster is by guys like Puljujarvi working, making room to bring up Pitlick and keeping Puusty up. They don't have the cap space to make impactful trades and if they do they need to send cap out and to me there aren't many candidates to move in that scenario and if there is it will probably cost them (Graves has a next contract, Smith could be desirable but then a top 6 winger is required). Eller could be an option but it would have to be for another Center to replace him and IMO he's had a fine season, hasn't had the best wingers.
