You really think Benson is making the team?

Given the depth the Sabres have, letting him marinate for a year is going to do him no harm at all..... although I get he has nothing meet to prove in the WHL.

I just see a Sabres team with the depth to properly develop these guys..... no need to rush. The window is JUST opening..... and it can be argued that the Savoies, Kuliches and Bensons are going to be better than than some in this line up.

The best is yet to come if it is done right.

Think he gets his 9 games and they make a decision then. Depending on how they do it, that would get him to November unless they break them up. Skill wise he's ready, just is he ready Physically. Think you will see a bunch of different combinations this year.

This is what sucks about the AHL agreement. If Benson was eligible for Rochester, it is a no brainer.

I have become a huge proponent of loaning these "bubble" guys to Swiss teams for a year. Benson would get to play amongst men, and improve his game.

But the 9 game audition is a strong possibility. My point is it isn't necessary to to do or rush him into the lineup.

Benson was an excellent draft choice where he was taken - and it is easy to see where he slides in long term if he becomes that chippy PPG player I see him being.

I understand what you are saying about rushing the players and I agree mostly, just Benson is on a different scale and you can see that already. And that agreement been around for a long time, sucks now cause it's affecting a few of are very good prospects.

It is, but Adams' advantage here is the prospects that matter are waiver exempt.

Where the difficult part comes into play is deciding who goes to male room? Olofsson is obvious, and would have been if Quinn was good to go. But beyond that? Those are difficult decisions...... Savoie, Kulich, Benson.... all are more than 4th line guys; and that top 9 is good. Really good.

Now depending on Jokiharju, one of them may go to upgrade the RD, but short of that? I am at a loss on how to make room when the time comes.

It is a great position to be in on one hand, and a challenging one on the other.
