The Hawks reject this proposal.
While Beauvillier is a decent player, I don’t think he brings anything that the Hawks feel they absolutely must have in their lineup. He is a middle six forward of which the Hawks have plenty, so I just can’t see Davidson trading draft capital to acquire him. If the Canucks wanted to flip him for a lesser paid player like Blackwell then perhaps or if the Canucks want to attached a pick to him to facilitate moving his cap hit then a deal may happen.
As far as retaining on Beauvillier and flipping him at the trade deadline, the Hawks already have a half dozen potential candidates for that strategy and only two remaining retention slots.
