I think for Leafs to be able to justify doing that, it'd have to be half retention as they'd mainly look at moving Jarnkrok for cap hit reasons.

No thanks on Appleton. NSH has enough in house options for the bottom six already. Plus, with all the dead cap space over the next couple years allocating over $2M for a 4th liner isn't the best use of the remainder.

Additionally, there are still alot of depth players available for free as UFAs. Just doesnt make sense to spend assets on a bottom 6 forward right now with the glut of available talent out there
