Some nice juggling....Kadri for Rakell (though I wouldn't do it). IMO those UFA signings are too long and frankly the players just may not be good enough in the future.....Greene, Bozak and Filluppa. But a unique take and players why rarely get mentioned as being Leafs in 2018. Nylander must been having a bust out year to be worthy of 7.8.m. Hoping Carrick gets more $$$$ cause he is deserving of it. Marincin and Marchenko likely won't be resigned but will leave as UFAs. You got the roster space and cap, why not keep. Martin?

Defense still needs improving? Are you serious? Elite talent in Gardiner, Rielly, and Zaitsev, Green is a legit top four, Dermott can play solid third line, and so can Carrick. If Soshnikov and Aaltonen continue improving the offense is stacked.

Yea maybe Bozak should be a 2 year deal.

Isn't is strange, that in any posts that say the Leafs won't be Cup contenders, the defence is mentioned. Almost all teams aren't happy with their bottom 2 or 3 defensemen and want to improve that position.
In the Atlantic, the Leafs defence is as good as any team I think, except Tampa and maybe Florida. And even in the Metro maybe two teams have a better defence. So really for most teams....they are close to being the same calibre.
