Kyrou vs Keller

There is not a more even major trade in the NHL. If both teams want to do it this is as fair as it gets.

Apart from the fact that Kyrou's deal is front loaded (and that's almost certainly a no-go for Arizona, Keller makes 3 mil less than Kyrou in real dollars next year) , I see very little point in trading for Keller if you're not keeping Kyrou. The reason to acquire that caliber of player would be to play with the other, similarly good players already on this team. Trading one to get the other leaves you more in less in the same position as before.

Everytime I see this one get bandied about I feel like it's just a trade for the sake of making a trade. It makes way more sense to package some of the forward prospects that are long shots at being a top line presence (Neighbours, Bolduc) as well as the picks to add Keller than nuking Kyrou to get him.

Keller has been all over local phx media saying he doesnt want to move just wants club have direction, as for trade neither needs change of scenery its an even trade but has no real reason. I didnt watch lots of blues but JK was -38 (on better team) and keller -2 (I know its a team stat but what was going on)

I’ll take Kyrou any day over Keller. Sure their point totals may be similar, but Kyrou brings much more bite to his game and is so underrated. Keller had a bounce back season after being mediocre for so long - he may continue to be a point per game player, but when he’s not producing points he’s not doing much for his team like Kyrou does.
