Why would Carolina consider this? None of those pieces do anything. Unless Kochetkov is in a package for someone like Caufield or Suzuki, it's not happening

Outside of the hyperbole of the other canes fan, i don’t see why Montreal would do this. Montreal isn’t a goalie away from a cup team and Kochetkov isn’t that level of a goalie either

Idk anything about Kochetkov but I would assume that being a goalie in general and having never played more than 25 games in a season in the NHL, that I would be hard pressed to move a 1st + for him. I know he is only 22 and over those 24 games this year he put up good numbers but goalies don't have a lot of value to begin with and are often referred to as voodoo since they tend to have consistency troubles year to year. I also don't see much of an upgrade over Monty given the strength of teams the two played for. Monty played 40 games on the 5th worst team in the league and put up a .901 sv% while Kochetkov played 24 games for the 2nd best team in the league and only managed a slightly better sv% at .909. It begs to question if Kochetkov played 40 games would his sv% have even been that much better than Monty's?

Kochetkov has flashes of top 10 goalie. He has been highly inconsistent. He comes out of the goal far too small. The AHL squads aren’t as good at hitting the open areas but the NHLers are doing a much job

That's kind of my point Monty on a nightly basis was facing 40 shots from NHL players over half a season and still had the 16th best sv% among goalies who played more than 40 games all while playing for the 5th worst team in the league.
