Description
Front Office:
- Ensure that Gorton remains committed to the Habs. If that means further promoting him or massively raising his salary, so be it. He is an experienced presence that helps make Kent's job far easier.
- Consider bringing in Paul Byron and Carey Price as members of the front office or of the development staff. Byron seems to have already somewhat transitioned into that role, and could be a great liaison between the team and the front office. Price could serve as a mentor to the young goalies in the system; and he would be able to do so from his new home, in British Columbia.

Coaching Staff:
- Revamp the NHL coaching staff, and reconstruct the AHL coaching staff. Notably, let go of Burrows and Letowski, who were hired by Marc Bergevin and haven't been particularly effective in their time here (Burrows' PP is horrendously bad), as well as AHL head coach J-F Houle.
- At the NHL level, the Habs could consider bringing in the up-and-coming Coachella Valley Firebirds assistant coach, Jessica Campbell, and former Hab, Tomas Plekanec, who has expressed interest in becoming a coach, to continue the young team's development.
- One potential option for the AHL head coaching job would be Sherbrooke Phoenix head coach, Stephane Julien, who has won coach of the year and was an assistant coach for Canada's WJC team.

If the Sabres spend any assets its going to be for a top 4 D, not someone like Edmundson

There is no incentive for Winnipeg to trade PLD for less than his rental value.

The perfect comparable trade is the Horvat deal, so you just need to add a bit to that for PLD being younger, better and having a full year of team control left.

However, it will be pointless to trade for him if you're trying to get him to sign a lowball extension. Zero chance he signs the extension you have.

Buffalo isn't giving up that much for Edmundson.

I would argue that the perfect comparable for a potential Dubois deal is the fiala trade both being 24yo at the time of the deal and both having similar stats. You could even argue that Fiala had better stats than Dubois on a worst team, but Dubois is a center. The fiala trade was basically what you're getting here.

Dubois is not better than Horvat - at the time Horvat was traded. That comparable is not in the slightest bit close.
