Thats the whole point, Motte hasnt scored a point for OTT since.... Nov? No interest in Pajuniemi, hah. What do you think youre gonna get for Motte? Something good? Itll be a late pick, I only throw in Pajuniemi for the retention.

Well, thats how I see it with Detroit. Yzerman sure as heck isnt gonna over pay for Krav, but a 3rd round pick for a kid that has some talent is definitely in his wheel house. Rangers fans are super frustrated with how hes been used, but Im guessing coaches and management wont let bygones be bygones after he had his tantrum last year. At the very least, you know he can play at an NHL level. When you consider what the odds are of a 3rd round pick panning out to an NHL level player, this would be a good move for them I feel.

Motte has no points in his last 9 games, but no GM is trading for Motte to add scoring, they want him for their PK and to play on a shutdown line.
If a late pick is all that's offered my bet is OTT will just hang onto him and probably offer him another 1 year deal.
