I dont' think BOS has the ability to make a trade for any of the big names. They have the worst prospect pool in the NHL and their picks are going to be late rounds of whatever round they trade. Think the only way they get a big name like Chych is giving up multiple 1sts and their best prospects which aren't all that great.
That is a tired and quite frankly lame argument.
BTW Lohrei is their #2 prospect and looks to be a legit top 4 d man.
The asking price is a pair of 1sts and good young player/prospect. Nobody is doing that. They have actually raised the price from last year which nobody would meet.
1st/2nd/Lohrei is a bit less but then there is Grizz who is worth more than Bjugs and they can flip him for more assets.
3rd is for taking Reilly.
It all comes down to what other offers they get and how motivated they are.
I don’t think Zona does this regardless.
I think Grizz needs to be separate trade if they were doing something like this.
But the narrative that ‘it’s easily beaten” or “they don’t have enough” is just not a thing. If it was so easily beaten he would have been traded already. He hasn’t because nobody has offered better. Nor do they need a pile of prospects. They just need 1 that Zona likes enough.
I’m sure an offer of 1st/Swayman/Lohrei would get their attention pretty quick.
