This is a bad losing streak but it is still early November. Hextall gambled on a 22 man roster to start the season but poor play among veterans and injuries have taken their toll. It's time to make one roster adjustment (trade) but mostly make some tweaks to the line up.

Trade Kapanen. Enough is a enough. Bringing him back was Hextall's worst move this off-season which handcuffed how he could form the bottom-six. I hoped this could be avoided but it is time to pay up to get rid of him. Puustinen has shown signs of quality, smart two-way play. Get him in the line up.

Swap Rakell and Rust. This has probably been Sid's call, but move Rakell back up to the first line. The analytics are evident and he more than passes the eye test when playing up there. Zucker-Malkin-Rust had a good thing going at the start of the season.

It's time to make some promotions on the blue line. Pettersson has pretty much been stellar so far, move him up next to Letang. Joseph should graduate from third pair minutes, move him up next to Petry. Call up Smith for his season debut and sit Dumoulin in the press box.

As for special teams, it's time to get Letang back on PK1. The idea of managing his minutes was a nice thought but Dumoulin has been a complete disaster. Let Smith utilize his talents and quarterback PP2.
