Put Greig as a C because he's mostly played C. Think he likely ends up a winger in the NHL but it's my list so suck me.
Overall it's a pretty mid prospect group. My main concern is that the places where the prospect pool is the deepest (LW, LD) are also where the Sens are deepest in the NHL.
The New Guys:
Tomas Hamara looks like the best pick of the draft for Ottawa. Looks like he's got some real mobility and offensive ability.
Jorion Donovan looks like a very good pick too. Putting aside the fact that his dad is a former Sens player and current Development Coach, this is a real prospect in his own right and worth getting a bit excited for. Surprised Ottawa got him when they did tbh.
Stephen Halliday is intriguing. Sens like to swing on an overager in the mid rounds, and going with an offensive 6'3 C isn't a bad target in that case. Probably best not to get hopes up until he's in Belleville, but a season in the NCAA will give perspective of what they may have.
I'll be honest the name Kevin Reidler didn't exactly scream Swedish to me, but he is. Won't pretend to know much about him or about goalies in general, but when in doubt with drafting goalies go very big and very young. At 6'6 and with a birthday at the very end of eligibility (18 in September) he is both.
Overall I'm moderately happy with their draft, and obviously beyond ecstatic about their draft weekend with the DeBrincat add. Shaping up to be the strongest offseason in the Dorion era, and it could end up as one of the best offseason the franchise has ever had if they play things right.
