Description
Select Owen Pickering and Gauthier/Kasper from Ottawa's first at the draft while Emilie works her magic with the contracts.

Most likely the Senators decline if the trade is an overpayment or seems underwhelming for the Canucks in addition to the LA trade. But just curious.

Comes either with two options: a prospect (Grans, Allard) or if they want to shed salary, Roy or Walker while adding a 2nd or 3rd.

      Habs would accept that.

Seems like Fiala wouldnt sign with Ottawa which negated the trade for 7th OA. Doubfut that JT would sign past 2023

Mikheyev will sign closer to 4M

Dont see Zacha signing that low with a 3M qualifier. Maybe a 2 year deal not 3 which goes into free agency.

Figured the Senators have cap space and Miller may want money more than a cup, So trading him to a near contender team is a solution. In addition, the Montreal trade is one of the most mentioned trades on the other threads I've seen

Also, initially put those money contracts since Castonguay is so good with contract negotiations it looks like. But you're correct with the numbers

Roy and Walker are not cap dumps in any case.

Roy is a #2D man who has proven he can play the #1 in a pinch, with Doughty having been injured nearly the whole season. His 3mil deal is one of the best in hockey, and if the Kings were to trade him it would require a 1st and a decent prospect going to LA, not a sweetener going away.

Walker is coming off a major injury but would run the Kings second power play and was worth good value before the injury. Even now, before he skates, he has some value. The Kings wouldn't get as much as they would have last year, but he would bring back at least a 3rd and there would be interest around the league. That said about Walker, the Kings are likely to let him start the season to show the league he came back strong from his injury. This should allow them to push his value from a 3rd to a definitive 2nd.

Point is, the Kings aren't paying to get rid of either player.

That’s an overpay for Miller. Basically 4 1sts and a 3rd. Would much rather get Cat for a similar price and would definitely have rather had Fiala for less than half of that price.

      Definitely pass.
