Description
I'm going off of what Rutherford said in his interview yesterday about not wanting to move picks/prospects in order to save a season or two of cap hits, so I avoided relocating Dickinson and Poolman at that expense.

I didn't relocate Myers, since after next off-season's bonuses he'll only be owed 1m, which will make him a much, much more valuable target for the likes of Arizona or Ottawa.

Détails additionnels:
Comparable Deal: Seabrook for Johnson + 2nd 2023

Hornqvist is very comparable to Johnson, the advantage Florida has is they clear out more cap space compared to the one involving Johnson (5.3m w/Hornqvist vs. 1.8m w/Johnson), hence the addition of Ludvig as an added incentive.

The added cap space allows Florida to re-sign Giroux/Marchment and clear space for younger talent like Denisenko.
FLA
  1. Ferland, Micheal
Détails additionnels:
Canucks take advantage of Florida's cap crunch, taking on Hornqvist's salary with the 2nd Rounder in 2023 being comparable to the Tampa/Chicago deal, and seek out Ludvig as additional compensation for the increased cap savings. Ludvig fits an organizational need, a bigger defensive defenseman who can shore up Abbotsford's corps and allow them to call up or move Rathbone.

  4. Choix de 1e ronde en 2023 (MIN)
  5. Choix de 2e ronde en 2024 (MIN)
Détails additionnels:
CONDITIONAL 2023 1ST ROUND PICK - Top 16 protected, slides to 2024 1st Round pick if Minnesota misses the playoffs.

CONDITIONAL 2024 2ND ROUND PICK - If Minnesota makes the Conference Finals OR JT Miller re-signs with the WIld, the pick is given to Vancouver.

Adding Miller @ 50% retained would afford the Minnesota Wild center depth they have never had before. Miller, Hartman, and Gaudreau down the middle would be a fearsome sight for any team in the league, especially when the group of them comes in at less than 5 million combined.

Given the WIld's prospect depth, they would be more willing to relinquish the 2023 1st in order to acquire a bonafide Top-15 center at the cap hit Miller retained would have.
MIN
  1. Miller, J.T. (2 625 000 $ retained)
  2. Choix de 3e ronde en 2022 (VAN)
Détails additionnels:
The main part of this deal is obviously the 2023 1st, although with how strong of a draft it is predicted to be, the Wild need to set up some precautions.

Jost is a project player, he's never lived up to the expectations of his draft spot, and could reclaim his early career success in the Canucks' Top-6.

Addison likely slides into the Canucks' bottom pairing or sees time in Abbotsford, filling a gaping hole on the right side defense.

J. T. Miller will be traded to a team that can afford him long term, Sorry but Minnesota isn't that team with their cap crunch. If Minnesota can't afford to keep Kevin Fiala then they can't afford J. T Miller.

100% this. Also, MN is reportedly looking to add top 100 2023 picks, not trade them away.

To add to the other reasons this wouldn't work, you can't put conditions on picks based on players re-signing.

That's not true. Ottawa and San Jose had those conditions with Karlsson's contract.

"The deal also includes two conditional picks:

Should the Sharks sign Karlsson to a contract extension, Ottawa receives San Jose's second-round selection in 2021, which would upgrade to a first-round selection (not lottery protected) if San Jose reaches the Stanley Cup Final in 2019.

If Karlsson is on an Eastern Conference roster (reserve list) during the 2018-19 season, the Senators will receive an additional first round pick from the Sharks no later than 2022."
