What would a Wahlstrom trade look like

Only deal I could realistically see them lining up for on Wahlstrom would be Formenton+something else. 2 young wingers that both teams might want more out of, and Ottawa adds more to make up for the difference in pedigree & the fact that Formenton gets his RFA raise this summer instead of next summer like Wahlstrom.

That being said, I don't like it and I'd rather keep Wahlstrom than move on from him. Lane Lambert gave the "kids" more leash in the handful of games he was in charge this season so I want to see if Wahlstrom can take the next step next season.

i don’t see him moving in a prospect swap. unless it’s in a package for an established player who fills a clear need (not saying it would happen at all obv but in ottawa’s case like a chabot) i don’t think they deal him rn

There is no reason the Isles trade Wahlstrom with Trotz gone and seeing him get a fair shot in the top 6 this year.

The only way trading Wahlstrom makes sense is if it’s Wahlstrom + for someone like Batherson. There’s no reason for Ottawa to do that but there’s also no reason for the islanders to trade him unless it’s a clear upgrade. There’s less than a 1% chance isles would trade Wahlstrom for someone like Formenton or Brannstrom.

You're saying Ottawa trades their franchise defenseman who leads the league in play time for a winger that has struggled a bit offensivley?
