You're giving up way too much for a year of Weegar and that Zaitsev cap dump is really bad and he blocks it due to his M-NTC.

Massive overpay to get Weegar, and then a massive overpay to dump Zaitsev... only to not even use the cap space.

1. You're overpaying Burakovsky and Mikheyev.

2. You allowed yourself to get fleeced by Florida and Arizona.

I might've overpaid for Weegar, sure, but he is one of Florida's best defensemen, if not the best. They won't let him go for cheap, plus, I assumed the Sens would talk about extension as soon as he arrives to the team since he is eligible to extension starting this summer.

As for Zatisev, I think he has to realize that there won't be many teams that would want him especially if the Sens want to trade him.

I think we have to realize that, as much as this team seems very fun and looks to have a bright future, it isn't easy to attract UFA given Ottawa's market, since first, it's in Canada, so people will always highlight the taxes, and second, it isn't a big city such as Toronto or Montreal, its a governmental city. So if you want to get good UFA players, you're gonna have to overpay them at least 500K to 1M a year to be an attractive option.
