JVR a hab for a day

Sens would be better off just buying out White. Dvorak is no better fit than White would be.

That is barely enough to take the JVR contract, then you want to just throw in 2 good assets and retain half on Drouin?! Gonna have to add like 2 1sts and a 2nd to thar deal to even it out.

Rumour was JVR and Desnoyers for Petry, and then I added Drouin half retained in exchange for Frost.

Yeah selling these guys at a loss but Petry only holds real value if MTL retains and this way MTL doesn’t have to and Drouin is a skilled player but that only matters if he actually plays, at this point he needs a change of venue and MTL needs to move on from him. According to a Philly fan so does Frost, so retain(its only for one year) to get a young guy like Frost and see if MSL can help him turn it around and get Drouin out of Montreal where he obviously feels too much pressure and see if he can turn it around in Philly.

Let’s face it as Habs fans, Petry nor Drouin are going to get much of a return but I’m okay with that.

Drouin half retained gets a mid/late second (Desnoyers)

Petry (who is playing at his normal .5 ppg level under MSL) has reestablished his value of a 1st + 2nd value.

JVR has negative value for the Habs since he is an overpaid winger and we already need to move wingers out. So Frost + 1st seems like good value for 1 year of a huge cap dump.

Add all that up and Petry + Drouin (half retained) = JVR (cap dump) + Desnoyers + Frost + 2 1sts + 2nd (one 1st and Frost for JVR and the 1st + 2nd for Petry) otherwise we just keep the better players.

Flyers would probably rather do a pick instead of Desnoyers but that's a solid trade
