Description
Trades:

NJ:

Clearly Rebuilding, I've read that they're not using Severson and opting for older veterans, clearly they don't see the value we do. The Leafs send a prospect package to the rebuilding Devils. Kapanen is hard to let go but we need to send value to get value, him alongside Zacha could make for a lethal pairing. Valiev and Rychel are not elite prospects but they are solid and can help restock NJ's prospect cupboards. Coming back the Leafs get a puck moving, tough right handed defenseman who's only 22.

NYI:

Islanders are in a win now mode, and this trade was a little bit iffy to make. JVR would be a perfect candidate alongside JT, however I'm not sure if the Islanders are willing to move Barzal. In this trade the Leafs take nearly 9 million in dead cap plus a 5th defenseman.

I thought about maybe it being more realistic to take Strome, however I feel like his value is really low and with Dylan struggling, I can't help but feel we should stay away from the family as a whole.

NSH:

Please let it be known that this trade is not done. If we bring in Barzal I would be open to trading Bozak if we feel Barzal can step in. The center market is extremely weak this year with Hanzal and Bonino being the top option. Bozak has 50 points playing in limited minutes and is a faceoff ace. I don't think NSH would be open to trading away their first but I'm not sure what else we would want. Basically I'm saying Bozak's value is more than a second but I don't know if a team would be willing to give up a 1st.

I would also be open to keeping Bozak until his contract runs out.

Dallas:

We give them a top nine option who can kill penalties for 2m. Not a bad deal plus it doesn't have to be Dallas, just a team looking for a solid veteran defensive forward.

Vegas:

We protect:

-Nazem Kadri
-Connor Brown
-Brendan Leipsic
-Morgan Rielly
-Damon Severson
-Jake Gardiner
-Connor Carrick
-Thomas Hickey
-Frederick Andersen

Exposed:
-Leo Komarov
-Eric Fehr
-Josh Leivo
-Matt Martin
-Alexey Marchenko
-Jaroslav Halak

We give them Martin who could be a crowd drawer (league leader in hits) and a 3rd to not select Komarov.

As an Isles fan, i say no. If the Isles didn't want to give up Barzal for Duchene i highly doubt they will for JVR.

NYI trade isn't close. and that Nashville trade is seriously laughable. They aren't giving up a 1st rounder for a guy to play 3C or maybe even 4C.

If you think Bozak is a 4th line centerman than I question if you follow hockey

He's 36th in points for centerman tied with Bergeron and Backlund
        He's got a 56% in faceoff wins
Out of all the teams third line centerman here are some that potentially stack up to Bozak: Hanzal, Hayes, and Couturier

Brian Boyle is a 4th line centerman (a good one at that) and he cost a 2nd rounder for half a year
        Hanzal got a 1st, a second and a 4th

        I don't think a low 1st is "seriously laughable"

why are isles so desperate to win? potential of Barzal for JVR seems a great deal for leafs. isles would be better of to sign dadanov and keep brazil think you can get rid of Kumelin that easy, probably not. severson is an a good nhl defensemen, seems like new jersey are really only getting one nhler in return, kapanen.

They have the worst attendance in the league? They have Tavares in his prime and they're consistently fighting just to make it in. Their GM has made some poor choices and I feel his job security could be on the line if he doesn't produce a winning team soon.

I seem to have made a poor choice in targeting Barzel, I didn't think he was a complete 'untouchable' so clearly he's a lot better than I realized. But that's why I make so many is to take feedback.

For the Severson deal I think you're right, the main piece is Kapanen who has top six potential, but not with the Leafs (Nylander, Brown and Marner are all right wingers). Valiev and Rychel I feel could be NHLers but not in impact roles (bottom pairing Dman and Bottom six forward). Its hard to grasp what NJ is trying to do or what they exactly want, I think this value is close, but maybe we could add
