I suspect Lagesson will draw in against Chicago, Tippet and Playfair are familiar with him. Before his injury, last season, he showed quite well playing a second pair shut-down role with Adam Larsson. He's not a strong puck mover, but he is physical. If he brings his "A"-game, he might do well playing with Bouchard, behind Keith and Ceci. in the last couple of games, Barrie has actually played decent defensively. Still, there is reason to be nervous about playing him with Russell.
I think the coaching staff will want to get Broberg into at least a couple practices before his NHL regular season debut. I'm not sure they will be comfortable giving him his first game against Dallas, especially since the Stars have last change and will be able to match up as they wish.
Of course, Tippett could choose to dress 7 d-men and 11 forwards. He has the versatility and firepower up front to make that work.
