Brannstrom is a great puck distributor, and he's great at getting shots through on net, and Lassi is the best candidate on the whole team to be the the top of the circle siege cannon. He's got a frightening shot.

Not sure why Ottawa would retain salary to add a much bigger contract. Ottawa can buy out Zaitsev pretty much painlessly, if Ottawa is retaining salary they should be getting out with nothing coming back. Also as a fit I don't think JVR makes much sense at all. His biggest selling point is what he can do at the front of the net, and that something Ottawa already has with Brady Tkachuk.
