Sorry, we wouldn't trade Alex Turcotte alone for that package. Gallagher is a heart-and-soul guy, but we expect Arvidsson to have a similar effect for us, and Norlinder and the third have about the value of the second to us.

What package for Turcotte could you see? Montreal needs a future 2C, and Kings seem overloaded with them (I also wanted to avoid the typical Hertl or Strome deals).

Arvidsson, i undervalued his role on your team it sounds like, I was looking more for a cap dump/warm body. Wasn't aware he is still decent/good. Same with Maatta, but that might only matter if you need the capspace this year.

Norlinder is highly touted since his draft, 2LD who is super offensive. I think some Habs prospect guys consider him to have a higher ceiling than Romanov at this point, right up there with Guhle (but very different play styles).

To deal with your most minor points first: yes, we see Arvidsson filling a top-6 forward role for us for the balance of his contract. And Maatta IS a cap-space-if-needed warm body only.

Our needs are a top-6 RW to replace Dustin Brown and, eventually, Arvidsson, and a top-pairing LD. When Rob Blake allowed over the summer that his prime wish was to get a first-class LD under 25, we all thought of Jakob Chychrun (dream on) or Mikhail Sergachev (almost as unrealistic) or Zach Werenski, but we were all probably setting our sights too high. Alex Turcotte was seen as the primary asset to be used to acquire such a player. He was drafted fifth overall and seems to be on track to fulfill that promise, so any deal for him is going to be expensive. I don't see Montreal as having the right type of assets to make a deal. Your other 2022 first isn't going to be very high, and that pick plus Romanov or Norlinder isn't going to be enough; I don't think Jake Evans is who we're looking for, and Jesse Ylonen isn't a sufficiently good prospect to finish out the deal. None of your other forward prospects have much appeal, at least for me. Caufield or Suzuki are, of course, too much.
