I wouldn't be so sure about that. 3 years in and Kk isn't improving much. His skating is not good enough, but he can improve.

Graves is the AVS #4 dman after Makar, Toews, Girard. Taking age into consideration, I don't see the Habs taking Graves or Toews for kk. So either its Girard or no deal. Maybe 1 for 1.
But, why would the Avs even want Kk? They have great Centermen for the top 3 lines...

Right now the only center we have under contract are : Suzuki and Jake Evans.

KK is RFA
Danault is UFA and will probably walk out of MTL because he think he can plan a 2 way center role while MTL see him as a shutdown center

1) why the Avs want KK u have Mack, Kadri Jost and even Bowers and Newhook
2) I think if the habs would really target Girard if that happen

I don't think Habs fans here appreciate just how good Girard is. At 22 years old (just turned 23), he proved to be in the top echelon of defenseman throughout the entire league. And he is on a very good contract. Colorado isn't trading him straight up for a guy who was a healthy scratch at the end of the year. Anyone who wants him would have to pay a huge price.

Don't get me wrong. I like KK and think he will be a good player for a long time. Giving up a top dman for a guy who might turn into a 2C but carries risk is not a good trade though.
