I'd give the edge to Landeskog over Duchene – looks like a better fit.

Assuming COL will trade both Duchene and Landeskog if they opt to go full rebuild mode, getting too many expansion draft-eligible players in return would make no sense to them. This means the package would have to include mostly futures, such as Juulsen, Lehkonen and/or McCarron. I'd say Juulsen, McCarron and a 1st. Now, apparently the Avs want an established D in return. Don't know why they'd want that with Johnson and Beauchemin on NMC but let's add Beaulieu to the mix to make them happy, and toss in Desharnais as a cap dump.

Habs protection list would then be:
Pacioretty
Galchenyuk
Gallagher
Landeskog
Shaw
Radulov (if he’s re-signed before the draft)
Danault
Weber
Petry
Nesterov
Price

In the off-season, give 6M$/yr to both Galchenyuk and Radulov and use the remaining 6M$ to ink Markov, Nesterov and replacements for Ghetto and Flynn.
