Another fun exercise (just can't stop lol). I think this will be harder than I think, but I wanted to take my favourite team and trade everyone, but every trade has to be one-for-one, and be mostly equivalent as a player in terms of type and talent (as objectively as possible - even though that's impossible). Age matters less but players will likely be close, while position will be equivalent. Don't know if I'll make the cap work but we'll see. I'm using my own thoughts on players but also counting on professional rankings of players (ex. Corey Pronman). It's impossible to get it right on with value but I'll try my best.
For reference sake, I wanted to include some almost-decisions I made
Norris - Dubois (I think he will be there and maybe better but hard to tell yet)
White - Mittelstadt, Steel
Dadonov - R. Smith
Chabot - Girard
Zaitsev - Demers
Zub - Graves, Bear
J. Brown - Beaulieu
Watson - Kolesar, Bastian, Reaves
C. Brown - Athanasiou, Järnkrok
Tierney - Laughton, Rask, Faksa
Dzingel - Haula, Blackwell, Tanev
Paul - Nosek, Moore
Anisimov - Bonino
I can imagine every team's fans will disagree with me, but hopefully I did okay. I think it's a really interesting exercise because it forces you to look at your team without the bias you have for your own players, and see what they'd look like reconstructed. This actually made me feel better about the Sens moving forward - they're deeper than they look. I also think Murray is actually better than Holtby right now but there aren't as many goalies to choose from
I think Coyotes fans might disagree, but based on them this year, plus their potential I think it's similar. Both are likely perennial 60pt producers at their peak.
