Description
If players currently on the taxi squad were available this would be my lineup including Caufield. He needs ice-time and strong linemates in order to smoothly transition, he'll produce and become more comfortable and confident. If he gets stuck on a bottom-six role he probably won't be able to produce at that elite level and he'll lose confidence. That's not what we want for a developing prospect.

Side note, the Canadiens should give Laurent Dauphin a chance in the NHL lineup if a spot opens up. He's been playing so well in Laval.

Other side note, Jesse Ylonen will be a very good player for the Canadiens in the future, you can tell by the decisions he makes, he's a smart player.

Pain to see Weal and Caufield on the same line... Make Caufield play with someone with a future like Poelhing and complete the line with a vet like Blandisi or Vejdemo

I doubt Guhle ends up in Laval after his season with Prince Albert this year.

Also (when he’s not suspended) Veilleux would get in the lineup over Khisamutdinov. Although there’s the possibility that Myšák needs to leave anyways if the OHL starts up.

Weal is the best centre and playmaker in Laval. Sure he’s not a great 4th liner because he isn’t great defensively, but he’d be great for developing Caufield’s offensive game in Laval.

I love when people post and I dislike when people jump on all the negatives. In other words I always try to encourage and lift people up. With that said you have a few minor mistakes. I have watched every single Laval game twice. The day of the game and the next day breaking it down further.

Lindgren is no longer the #1 or #2 goalie in Laval. Primeau has taken over #1 and so has McNiven that is often overlooked but counting this season and the end of last season, he has won 7 of his 8 last games.

On Defense:

While I love Guhle, he has not been on the team in over a month, as he was sent back to his Junior team. Also, he currently has a fairly severe hand injury. So many people place Ouellet in the top 4 in Laval. He played better at the NHL level that he had all season in Laval. Not sure why, but several other d-men played much better than him in Laval. Leskinen has played all his games on the left side. Tobie Bisson has become a very steady hard hitting d-man with excellent board work and he is very solid on the 3rd pairing. Sometimes playing LD, but playing RD if paired with Brisebois.

Up front:

The lines before injuries (Belzile & Vejdemo) and suspension (Veilleux) have been the following for pretty much their last 7 games.

11-19-26
46-41-14
22-12-38
23-18-34

With the arrival of Caufield he will obviously be playing. The top two lines are absolutely rolling right now. I see 23 (Pezzetta) coming out and 38 (Veilleux) dropping to 4th and Caufield going next to 22 (Belzile) & 12 (Vejdemo) mind you both have minor injuries right now. But Belzile is a good veteran and Vejdemo has speed and good passer to find Caufield. In terms of talent on the right side Caufield and Ylonen are the best two. But I would not be taking 34 ( Baddock) out of the line up. They are a different team when he is out. He is so feared, he rarely fights but people calm down when he is around.

I do think McNiven is improving and will be a good AHL starter but I do think that Lindgren and Primeau would run in this lineup simply because they prefer Lindgren as their 3rd string over McNiven. I understand the complications with this lineup in Guhle, Vejdemo, Belzile, and others. I think that you're right in that an argument for Baddock in this lineup could be made. Leskinen did play right side today but he has played left side most of the year. I think Ouellet will definitely turn his AHL season around, its just tough for him getting out of this slump. Also, I left off Bisson, Brisebois, and Shueneman because I'm unsure how the Canadiens view them. These lines may not make perfect sense chemistry wise and may not be in the best interest of Laval but I think in an ideal situation these lines benefit the Canadiens to the best of their ability.
