Description

Spent some time scoping out the ACGM's of other fanbases and stole the deals I liked the most to create my go-to Leafs trade deadline thread. Which means, VAN, BUF, CGY, and NSH fans, these trades came from you, not us. So don't complain "typical Leafs fans!". Go yell at your fanbase if you don't like them. (I have an off-season continuation for this I'm working on)

VAN - Pearson adds what the second line is looking for. Look to resign in the off-season after the Expansion Draft.

CGY - Cheap flier on a former 1st Round talent with some physicality to his game. Mostly a fourth line guy but can slide up if needed.

BUF - I like Ullmark, I think he's a good risk to take on a goalie. Especially given that Grubauer is unlikely to leave COL in the off-season. Their season is tanked and they'll be unloading salary soon, the 2nd is for them to take Andersen's contract for the rest of the season. This trade only works AFTER Campbell is healthy because Ullmark will have to miss 14 days to quarantine.

NSH Trade - Ekholm over Savard because he has a year left. Which is also the only reason I'd be willing to give up a 1st + Liljegren. Defensive lineup doesn't change for 14 days while Ekholm quarantines. Rielly is sheltered at ES and is the primary PP defenseman. Plays 16-18 minutes a night away from the tougher defensive matchups.

This team remains cap compliant when Simmonds comes back.

Those deals are very light, even poor, for those other teams.

Why would Calgary want a waiver wire and a 4th for Bennett AND retention?

Why does a team trade its number 1 netminder, and why does BUF want a UFA to be goalie and a couple of contracts? For a late 2nd rounder?

And Ekholm with 50% retained gets a late 1st and a prospect most of the Leaf base has given up on?

All in all, all of those teams will get better offers elsewhere

As the season proved the Sabres are barren at goalie except UPL and Ullmark. I'd look for a better team if I was him, but Buffalo definitely needs him...

When you healthy scratch a guy and then he has 6 points in 24 games... Value kind of diminishes. That and he's not on a rookie min. contract anymore. That said, I didn't come up with that offer, I looked through some CGY fan-made ACGM's and saw similar offers (the ones that weren't like... Nylander for Bennett and a 2nd) so I picked the offer I liked the most.
