Kessel waives NTC/NMC because he'll see that he has a chance at another cup and top line minutes on Carolina

Why Arizona benefits:
This strengthens their FWD depth, we learned from the Hall/Kessel experiment that having top end talent doesn't benefit their system as much as just having solid forwards would so I think this move makes more sense.

Their goaltending situation is still solid, as much as having two high end goalies is an excellent tandem, there is nothing wrong with having a high end #1 + a vet backup that can hold a .914 and can step in during injuries if need be

They recoup some lost assets (2nd rounder) from screwups

Why Carolina benefits:
I believe Kessel's numbers last year were an indication of the system he was playing in, not a decline, he can still pot 'em in a supporting role to guys like Aho, Svech, etc + his cup experience can help inform/mentor the rest of the canes, him and Staal can share stories of winning the cup with Crosby

Carolina's goaltending tandem becomes very strong, if Kuemper gets hurt, Mrazek can easily step in

Carolina still gets an asset of sorts in the 2021 draft
