Canucks might consider this without the retained on Eriksson and a 2nd rounder going to Florida and nothing coming back. They are looking for 21/22 cap space, and by retaining it's a wash with Stralman. With the retention on Sven, it helps the Canucks a little bit in 20/21 vs burying him, but not enough to give up a lot to get rid of him.
Stralman is a useable D-man, but he's old. He also costs much more in terms of 'real' money than Eriksson does. Given Florida's poor financial situation, that may make it worth it for them to pull the trigger.
