How does Chevy excite the fanbase with that package? Just don’t understand all these laine trades for role players. Where’s the potential win for Winnipeg, unless mtl in lottery and that pick ends up top 5, but could also be in the 20s

The problem with trading for Patrik Laine is that the Canadiens aren’t willing to give up Laine’s true value. This is probably why Bergevin is rumoured to not be interested. This trade doesn’t cut it. Any trade with Laine would start with Suzuki or someone similar, and Bergevin is not willing to give that up - for anybody. I’m not commenting on the legitimacy of Bergevin’s stance, I’m just saying that Laine won’t be in Montreal.

i like your name by the way

you got it right we won't trade for Laine because chevy will want suzuki and it took us 10 years to get a first line center and i would not trade suzuki one for one for Laine... suzuki plays a more important position and he plays both ways.. he is a better player than laine...... we will win more games with him than the streaky laine who will cost 3or 4 times more than Suzuki will in the next 5 seasons..

winnipeg overvalues laine and they don't see his flaws.... montreal plays defense first and he will hurt this and he has too much money coming to him now.... Winnipeg used up all of Laine's cheap years and now when it is time to pay the ferryman they will trade him because they can't afford him.... small market team and a guy who will want 9-10 mil on a long term deal. Send him to California or New york where he can get paid ... mtl can get hoffman or dadonov for no assets other than money ... i would look there first..

Winnipeg's not getting Suzuki for this guy. The WPG fans are overvaluing him ofc, latest rumours make more sense value wise : https://www.nhltraderumors.me/2020/09/rumored-trade-package-from-montreal-to.html
